Loss of Connection with the Mobile Device

If you are experiencing connection drops or intermittent tracking issues between your Radiacode device and your mobile device, the cause typically lies outside of the Radiacode software. This is often due to the mobile device's operating system managing apps to conserve power or optimize performance, which can interrupt the continuous functioning of the Radiacode application.

Solutions to Maintain a Stable Connection:

Option 1: Adjust System Settings to Allow Uninterrupted App Functionality

  • Disable Power-Saving Features: Turn off any power-saving modes that might limit the app's background activity.
  • Turn Off Memory Optimization: Disable settings that automatically close apps to free up memory.
  • Turn Off System Optimization: Deactivate any system optimizations that could interfere with app performance.
  • Disable Battery Saving Features: Ensure that battery saver modes are not restricting the app's operation.
  • Adjust App Control Settings: Modify system controls to permit the Radiacode app to run without restrictions.
  • Add to Exception Lists: Add the Radiacode app to all available exception or whitelist lists within your device settings to prevent it from being closed or limited.

  • Restart Your Devices: Sometimes, simply restarting both your mobile device and the Radiacode device can resolve temporary connectivity issues.
  • Check Bluetooth Settings: Verify that Bluetooth is enabled and functioning correctly on your mobile device.
  • Avoid Interference: Keep your mobile device and Radiacode device in close proximity to minimize potential interference from other electronic devices or physical obstacles.

Understanding the Issue:

Mobile operating systems, particularly Android, often employ aggressive power management strategies that can terminate or limit background applications to conserve battery life and optimize system resources. These features can inadvertently disrupt the continuous communication required between the Radiacode device and its companion app, leading to loss of connection or gaps in data tracking.

By adjusting your device's settings as outlined above, you allow the Radiacode application to maintain a stable connection with the Radiacode device, ensuring accurate and uninterrupted data collection.

If Problems Persist:

  • Consult Device Manufacturer Support: Some devices have unique settings or restrictions. Refer to your mobile device's user manual or support resources for device-specific instructions.
  • Contact Radiacode Support:
  • Provide Details: When reaching out, include information about your mobile device model, operating system version, and a description of the steps you've already taken to resolve the issue.

By following these professional guidelines, you should be able to resolve connection issues between your Radiacode device and your mobile device, ensuring reliable operation and accurate data tracking.
